HDM-4 Version 2.11 Upgrade

HDM-4 Version 2.11.01 Upgrade is now available free to registered HDM-4 Version 2 licence holders by downloading from the HDMGlobal website.

This update resolves an issue that resulted in the columns in a traffic growth set being resized to 0, meaning the user could not see the data that was present. This has been resolved.

HDM-4 Version 2.11 Upgrade is now available free to registered HDM-4 Version 2 licence holders by downloading from the HDMGlobal website. This update resolves a number of other issues identified in HDM-4 Version 2 below:

NEW CONSTRUCTION: If the user created a new construction with a concrete pavement type, and tried to change the construction year, the changes were lost when a user closed and reopened the workspace. This error has been resolved.

WORK EFFECTS: When performing a mill and replace operation with the mill depth greater than the surface thickness the after-works SNP value was calculated much higher than expected. This was due to an error in the equation in the HDM-4 documentation (Volume 4). The error in the documentation has been resolved, and the software updated accordingly. The after-works SNP value is now being calculated to the expected level. Works with a mill depth <= the surface thickness was not affected by this error.

WORK EFFECTS: The Standard Deviation of Rut Depth (RDS) parameter was not reset after a work activity that resulted in a change to the mean rut depth. This resulted in the RDS attribute continuing to deteriorate at its pre-work value. This has been corrected by setting the RDS value after work according to equation B8.28 in Volume 6.

WORK EFFECTS: Overlay and reconstruction work items did not cause NE4 to be reset which could result in the incorrect triggering of works items if using the "Cumulative ESAL" intervention criterion. This has been corrected.

RUNDATA: In the rundata the before works and after works pavement type and condition type (unsealed, bituminous, concrete) are output for reporting purposes. The before works values were incorrectly output in the first year of an analysis if an upgrade operation was triggered in the first year of the analysis with a duration of one year. This error has been corrected.

VEHICLE FLEET: If a user had made changes to the vehicle fleet, and clicked on "close" without saving they were issued a warning that the fleet had been changed and did they wish to close and save, close without saving, or cancel the operation. If "cancel" was selected they were taken back to the vehicle fleet. All subsequent saving of the vehicle fleet data would not save the data into the workspace unless they closed the vehicle fleet and reopened it again. This issue has been resolved.

CONCRETE RD: The default value for the base modulus has been changed from 2,000 to 200 as this represents a more typical value.

CALIBRATION: It has been discovered that the application of the calibration factor Kcrf for CRCP pavements is not applied as specified in the documentation for the absolute models, however, it has been applied as specified in the newly introduced incremental models in v2.10 onwards. Therefore, if Kcrf is not equal to 1.00 you will receive different results in v2.08 and v2.10.

WORK EFFECTS: Miscellaneous Maintenance works for CRCP pavement types would not trigger even if the intervention criteria were correctly specified. This error has been resolved.

PROGRAMME ANALYSIS: When the maximum number of section alternatives had been exceeded, HDM-4 would crash during the analysis. The user is now given a validation error message informing them maximum limit has been exceeded.

IMPORT: When importing a project analysis with multiple traffic diversion periods created using the data migration tool, a software error would result in preventing the successful creation of the Version 2 workspace. This error has been corrected.
